monotonous

Have you heard of Yuna? If you haven't, then shame on you :P

I'm all black and white inside
Monotonous from left to right.

Man, I love this song.

a better person

I love reading materials or excerpts that inspire me, and sometimes I share them on my blog. Here's one that I read this morning which somehow made me look at things in a different perspective. It's written in my native Malay language, so I'll try my best to translate them :)

Translation

This morning I heard both my parents teasing each other, and my mum even sang (!). All I could do was smile sheepishly, else if I were to butt in, it would be another different story. There's a blessing that my mum was admitted to the HUS (Sarawak General Hospital) the day before. A fish bone has gotten stuck in her gum and my dad had to accompany her to the hospital. And now they're teasing each other like mad :)

Moral of the story, Sometimes in order to have a good thing to happen, a bad thing must occur first. Always have faith in Allah, always think good of Him because He has only the best plans for us.

End of transation

I think I have became a better person in these few months. Spiritually, and in knowing myself better and what I want. I fell in love again with things that had once upon a time kept me alive - music and literature.

There's just one thing that still lingers in my mind.
There's this saying by Paolo Coelho, "Enjoy the questions and forget the answers."
Thing is, how do we enjoy the questions when we spend the start of our waking hours wondering what was wrong with ourselves? Every single day.

If I could have the answer to that, I think I will finally be at peace.

To the next journey and beyond.

♥ly weekend + Glenn's 'Sekali Ini Saja'. Couldn't get any better than this.

Sekali Ini Saja - Glenn Fredly
*courtesy of LirikLaguIndonesia.net
Bersamamu kulewati
Lebih dari seribu malam
Bersamamu yang kumau
Namun kenyataannya tak sejalan

Tuhan bila masih ku diberi kesempatan
Izinkan aku untuk mencintanya
Namun bila waktuku telah habis dengannya
Biar cinta hidup sekali ini saja

Tak sanggup bila harus jujur
Hidup tanpa hembusan nafasnya

Tuhan bila waktu dapat kuputar kembali
Sekali lagi untuk mencintanya
Namun bila waktuku telah habis dengannya
Biarkan cinta ini, biarkan cinta ini
Hidup untuk sekali ini saja

-------------------------------------------------------
I stumbled upon this song again after searching for Glenn Fredly. It has been ages, man! It triggers a long-lost passion. Weeee.. saya sukaa! Wanted to post this song in my FB page but couldn't find a decent version. Anyways, I LOVE the song and FYI, this song was actually taken as a soundtrack for an Indonesian drama called 'Istri Untuk Suamiku' which I used to watch back then. Weee, sangat suka.

And oh yeah, by the way, I had the most amazing weekend. A weekend of love and passion

♥

Have a great week ahead :)

Still fighting

Stumbled upon this song while looking for AJ's new song.

This might sound cliche-ish but somehow the lyrics reflect my exact emotions, of fear, uncertainty, my wanting to get rid of all those. Currently having a hard time pushing away the past which is now trying to make its way into my current life. (lol, can't I be anymore vague?)

Without You - AJ Rafael

Bucket full of tears
Baby know I'm here
I'm here waiting

Just close your precious eyes
And just realize
I'm still fighting
For you to be with me
Sit under this tree
And we can watch the sunrise

Wake up feel the air that I'm breathin'
I can't explain this feeling that I'm feelin'
I won't go another day without you
Hold on I promise it gets brighter
When it rains I'll hold you even tighter
I won't go another day without you

I know you're feeling down
Like no one's around
But baby you're wrong

Just get rid of the fear
Promise that I'm here
I'll never be gone

So baby come with me
We can fly away and we can see the stars shine
And baby you can be my love

This is me tonight
No more games and no more lies
And I know it's right
'Cos of the way you look into my eyes
And when I hold you tight
The worries dissapear I'm glad ur in my life

p/s: Can you help me move on?

Get-togethers of ♥ and passion

My weekend was filled with get-togethers with friends, in short L-O-V-E ♥. My darlings, babes who have seen and been through everything, the fall and the rise, the sad and the happy.

They talk about their dreams and ambition, great ones and some are already on its way. They have sad stories too, and yet, those never keep them from visualizing the future.

Some are full of plans; like there's no tomorrow. It's like they want to grab every single thing out of life, this and that.

It impressed me; cos it seems like nothing will stop them from their dreams and I really salute that and all of these actually made me feel way better because I guess there should be something that we should look forward to everyday to keep us going again and again, regardless of the downfall.

These triggered me of my own dreams and goals and such which I had long forgotten, and whilst online yesterday, I browsed through a local photographer's website. Its actually a SHE and she has previously gotten a Cleo Achiever's Award due to her outstanding work of portraiture. Amazing.

Then I remembered my passion, to find beauty in things, people, feeling, and translate them into pieces of art by words and pictures of expression. I wonder where has those gone to? It's time to continue the passion 'cos life's too short to be regretting over things that won't even matter.

Let's start with love :)

Raya holidays? So yesterday (!), Mari gembirakan hati tengok live band dan makan2 :P

Let's move on to a more cheery note, shall we? :D

Thursday 9th Sept 2010
Just a day before Raya. Training in the morning. Nasib baik jadi trainee jer. BUT, need to work in the office after lunch. Still very much numb inside.

Went back and slept because damn tired, plus didn't want to think about Raya.

8pm - Boss called, ajak dinner. Didn't want 'cos no mood. BUT she baited me with a movie (am a sucker for movies ok). So went out at 8-ish for dinner and later movie at Alamanda. We watched 'Step Up 3'. Highly recommended, you non-movie-buffs. Night went well, slept good too (nonetheless still with a little pain in the heart ya'll).

Friday 10th Sept 2010
First day of Hari Raya and I was working. Lucky thing the roads were clear (well they better be). I wore a dress to work. A rebel, you see :P Loads of work, but I went off at 7pm (which is kind of 'early'. No, seriously). Boss ajak watch movie (again I'm hooked) and go karaoke. So, off to IOI Puchong and watched 'Resident Evil : Afterlife', which to me sucked BIG TIME! Come on, Resident Evil is like one of the movies that has a great storyline and all the sequels are great, EXCEPT, for this one! This new sequel shows more CGI effects (like I care much juga) and more surprise elements. It literally killed the whole storyline. Ohh well! After movie, we headed to Neway and sang our hearts out until 4am. So there!

Saturday 11th Sept 2010
Practically slept the whole day until after lunch where I spent the rest of the day watching the telly.

10pm - Lene called ajak tengok movie (sigh, i can't live without movies, awesomeness). We watched 'Cats and Dogs', hilarious :P Next on our to-do-list-on-a-Saturday-night is of course, makan! And the hunt began in Bangsar (we wanted the famous nasi lemak) but the stalls were closed. The only packed (and open) makan place is Devi's mamak. So, with a bunch of McD takeaways, we continued our hunt (yeap babes, still food-huntin' even with McD in our very hands) in KL. Singgah sebentar di Chow Kit 'cos we saw a few stalls selling Raya goodies. Lene got herself a box of serunding daging. Nyum. I was't really into Raya, so tengok2 je la.And then (!), jeng jeng jengggg, we found a mamak in Bukit Bintang area (Estana Curry House) with not so many people BUT great food! Yay! I had nasi lemak + ayam rendang (or so) while Lene had nasi campur. Memang sedap. We went back at 4am (so I was actually wondering whether it was supper that we had or breakfast?). Hit the sack at 6am! Weeeeee..

Sunday 12th Sept 2010
Rest day (not..haha). Went to Sunway Pyramid by myself for some errands. Sometimes shopping alone is therapeutic. Seriously.

Monday 13th Sept 2010
Workday. Training in the morning. This time, I'm the trainer. Booo.

Tuesday 14th Sept 2010
My babe, Lene's birthday! Dengan baju yang ala-ala untuk dinner jazz gitu, we went for birthday dinner at Delicious, Bangsar. Food was lovely. I had Mama's Bolognese Spaghettini and Lemon Meringue Pie for dessert. Lene had Lasagne and Blueberry Crumble Pie. Memang tabik spring and memang worth and memang sangat puas hati.

We wanted to have a chill-out session listening to jazz in Alexis but unfortunately, they don't have any band playing that night. That definitely didn't take down our mood (of cos not!) and we straight went to the next best happening place, Sunway! Watched the live band playing. 2 thumbs up for the band, especially their lead vocals with whom we had a chat with as well, Dina. The crowd was small but still, sporting! Lene had a birthday song dedicated to her by the band. Woot! Thanks to the lovely Chindian waitress we made friends with at the bar (her name's also Lyn ;) )

IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE FUN NIGHT!

By then it was a little over 12am, and because I had to work (not to mention train) the next day, I need hit the sack early (otherwise we would have gone to Skybar as well, had the seats booked, mind you). Some other time, perhaps.

The night out really shifted my mood and I'm loving it :) Sebenarnya, now pun tengah no mood to have anything connected to Raya (even turned down a bestfriend's invitation to go menziarah) but I can't help it. Ok, gotta get this happiness radar up and up so that I can focus on work. Weee..

XOXO!

The pieces don't fit anymore

 by James Morrison

I've been twisting and turning,
In a space that's too small.
I've been drawing the line and watching it fall,
You've been closing me in, closing the space in my heart.
Watching us fading and watching it all fall apart.

Well I can't explain why it's not enough, Cause I gave it all to you.
And if you leave me now, oh just leave me now.
It's the better thing to do,
It's time to surrender,
It's been to long pretending.
Theres no use in trying,
When the pieces don't fit anymore, Pieces don't fit here anymore.

You pulled me under,
If I had to give in.
Such a beautiful myth,
That's breaking my skin.
Well I'll hide all the bruises,
I'll hide all the damage that's done.
But I show how I'm feeling until all the feeling has gone.

:'( So sad.Hiding all the bruises.

In need of good music fix

I miss watching music gigs, especially soul and R&B gigs. There's something about watching gigs that gives me goosebumps. Besh tau!

Kan sometimes the singer will sing medleys of his/her own songs plus other songs as well. Kadang2 they will also sing oldies that you have not heard in a long time and thus, triggers memories ;) Pffft! Well, the point is that I love gigs and will make sure this year I go to at least one more gig. I love the songs, the ambiance, the crowd, the passion. How the musicians look and sound so much better live, how the crowd share the same passion as you.Darn, miss the whole R&B era. They just don't produce good R&B music anymore.

Just to commemorate, I'll post up videos of Stylistics with their 70's hit, 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' which afterwards was made popular again by Simply Red and then, revised by my all-time favourite R&B group, Boys 2 Men. Enjoy ya.

Stylistics and their best number

The same beautiful number improvised by Boys 2 Men

Might need to find (or rather reunite with) musically-inclined partners/gangs ;)

the after nasi-goreng-munch (reposted)

Note (cum disclaimer) : This is a repost from my previous blog site (http://amyzaru.blog.friendster.com) when I was still very much new to serious blogging. That was when the hormones are raging and bits and pieces of the blog might contain emotional elements. TQ

*burp!*
Just finished Makcik Suhadriz’s Nasi Goreng Daging Kunyit. Not as yummy as the one made by her son (cheh, anaknya juak). Tapi memang betul bah. I didn’t get my fingers as kuning as they were when I had the one her son made. (just a note for Makcik in case she or her konco reads this: Makcik masak  tak kurang hebatt ;) )

I’m listening to Red.The one where they have weekly love-thing show on air. My first time. Sounds like fun (so far). They haven’t exactly opened up a topic yet but I’m enjoying the songs, nevertheless. Incidently, they too, played ‘Cobalah Untuk Setia’ by Kris Dayanti. One of my ‘favourite but jarang dengar‘ songs.

Cobalah Untuk Setia
by Kris Dayanti

Apalah mau mu kasih
Kau pilih diriku di dalam hidupmu
Nyatanya ku lihat kini
Tak bisa kau coba untuk setia
Sudah cukuplah sudah
Ku memberikan waktu
Kau selalu tak bisa
Mencoba untuk setia
Yang selalu kuinginkan
Yang selalu ku nanti
Kau coba tuk mengerti
Apalah arti mencinta
Dan kau harus sadari
Bila ingin bersamamu
Jangan coba kau ingkari
Cobalah untuk setia
Masihkah aku diinginkan
Masihkah aku didambakan
Masih ada waktu untukku
Bersamamu akanku jalani hidup

Secara tak langsung, I feel a little bit sad. No, nothing kenak-mengenak with me but yalah, I feel sad over those who ‘tidak disetiakanoleh kekasih-kekasih mereka. I mean, how sad kan?

Honestly, I don’t tolerate to acts of infidelity. I don’t even understand why they even have such word. To me, when you’re committed to someone, go all the way-lah. If you don’t love them anymore, just break it off and snag your new guy/gal. Easy. Why torture those hopefuls? Why commit if you still feel like doing some serious fling-ing? Don’t expect people to be loyal to you if you still want to ogle around. And to question  why your partner’s not  treating you well is just plain stupid. Come on, be  reasonable. Think about it.

On the subject of hopefuls, just imagine how they  would feel. Okay, here’s a scenario for you, readers:

You go fishing one day. Your  very first time. And since it’s your first time, you don’t expect to catch any. Amateur katakan. But you  secretly wish that you’d catch a small one, at least. Suddenly,  your rod  caught onto something and when you pull it, there’s a  big fish at the end of your rod, hanging onto your bait. Because it’s big and and it’s your first time fishing, you sedaya upaya pull  the rod from the water and voila, you succeeded in getting the fish into your bucket. You feel proud. You can’t wait to show it off to everybody, since it’s your first  catch. You even  planned on keeping the fish as a pet, and start to imagine hoow it would look like in an aquarium at the corner of your room. Tapi belum sempat you think of where to get the aquarium, you accidently kicked your bucket of your catch and off it goes into the  water again. You feel disappointed. Your happiness lasted for only a while. Your plans are no longer  meaningful. And although you can still catch another, it won’t bring the same  excitement and happiness you felt when you had your first catch.

Comprehende?  Kapish? Wakarimasu ka?

That’s how it goes, more or less.
I don’t know about you, maybe I’m just naive or just one of those old-age Juliet (ahaa!!), but I prefer one man at a time. No need to multi-task at multi-times. Hahaaa. I just hope I’ll  stay this way. It gives me full satisfaction of knowing that I did it the way it should be. Call me whatever, but I still think that there’s no reason nor excuse for  infidelity.

Now, the reason of the repost?

Heard Anang's song 'Separuh Jiwaku Pergi' in the FM today (apparently the song's dedicated to Kris on her infidelity) and I remembered I posted Kris's 'Cobalah Untuk Setia' in my old blog.

You make me smile

I just had to post this video. Watched it for umpteenth time and still have not had enough. Freaking hilarious!

And also watch this from Shakira, 'Give it up to me'. Heard it on the radio this morning and it was playing in my head the whole day. I know she's hot (watch the moves.Google the live performances as well). And the message is good though :

Nothing too big or small
Anything you want you can make it yours
Anything you want in the world

And finally, a piece of Uncle Krakers 'Smile' . . .

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed sing like bird
Dizzy in my head spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

WOOHOO! TGIF!

Listening to Justin Bieber. Nice songs, catchy. The IN artist now, I suppose.Hehee.. his songs cheers up my Sunday night! Getting ready for the stretches of weeks which undeniably are gonna be very, very hectic. Well, taking it in one at a time. Gotta increase my work productivity and focus level.I must! :P
