when bro visits kl (not for me, of course :P )

This is a really back-dated entry (I have lots of 'em.. erk!).
This was when my brother visited KL in July and I had to bring him on his mission to get a few souvenirs for himself, friends and the family.

So Candylicious for the final destination it is!

Posing with the mini trolleys

He shops worse than I do. Seriously.

Til then, night all!

rezeki is everywhere

Despite the negativity that I've been carrying around these few days, I actually have a blessing in between. I've got 2 pieces of my favourite Subway white chocolate cookies in my paper bag instead of 1, like I ordered.
Hurrah, rezeki!

In this photo, the cookies look so small, but actually they are each the size of your palm.

Still disbelieving this, I rummaged my purse and found the receipt. You know, just in case the guy thought I was ordering 2 pieces, but no, it stated there,
Cookie MD QTY 1.

What a blessing for this week.
:)

Oh ya, I'm today on MC due to backache.
I went to the massage parlour yesterday, a new visit for me to Urban Retreat. This one's located at Curve.

I was massaged by Kiaw, and man, she is GOOD!
I took the aromatherapy package because I wanted to de-stress myself.
It has been what, like a year, since I last went for a massage.
I highly recommend this one because of its private settings, unlike Arokaya or Thai Odyssey where you can practically hear other people's conversation next door (i mean what a way to de-stress, you get me?),  calm environment (away from the chit-chats and sounds of kids yelling) as the location is quite isolated from all the other shops in Curve, and professional services. I do, however, blame the lack of visits, that have caused me this backpain.

After the massage, I spent quite some time in MPH and Borders, looking for a colleague's birthday present and having some alone time.

My cousin was in town for the weekend to look for wedding materials, and I was supposed to go accompany her to Jalan TAR for the purpose, however I wasn't feeling so well, so I declined. I don't think it'll be convenient to tag along anyways :P

BUT!

But, on Saturday we all did go out to search for wedding designers in Bangsar.
I'll write on that one on another entry.

Til then, take care!

Was feeling super duper down tonight.

So I got myself this.

At least better than committing suicide right?

This feeling sucks.

a rainy Wednesday midnight

It was raining cats and dogs last night and I drove home with a visibility of near zero. While driving, I was thinking of doing something at home to comfort myself in this rather sombre weather and emotion. Reached home, took a quick hot shower, prepared a mug of hot tea, brought my laptop into my bedroom, dimmed the lights and watched this.

Yeap, the Lucky One.

It tells the story of a marine cop, Logan, who fought in the wars with his platoon. While fighting off the enemy, his platoon which initially had shortly crossed paths with another platoon got ambushed and all of them at the time were shot, except for Logan.

The next day, the remaining army including Logan was guarding around the rumble from the wars. Logan caught a glimpse of a photo buried under a small rumble and bent down to pick it up. At exactly the same time, the enemy had shot a missile at their group of army who were still guarding the area and only Logan survived. All thanks to the photo.

Now, the photo is actually of a beautiful girl, with a handwritten message on the back of it saying 'Keep Safe'. Feeling like he owed the girl his life, Logan decided to search for the girl to thank her in person.

It's a genuinely beautiful movie, and I guess this is the first time I've seen Zac Efron in a rather serious act. Beautiful movie, beautiful music, and beautiful messages.

“Finding something like that in a war was like finding an angel in hell.  So I kept it with me.  And I survived a lot of things I had no right to.  I promised myself if I got out I’d find that girl and thank her.”

“Everyone has their own destiny.  Not everyone makes the choice to follow it.  I’m lucky I did"

Quite strong messages there, don't you think? About our Qada' and Qadar and the likes.
Am a bit teary and emotional these days. I guess I need to have some time to myself and find answers to my questions.

Anyway, go watch it on DVD! Inspiring and makes you want to fall in love and hang in there  no matter what hits you.

choices

I'm feeling pretty down these few days. Been thinking about a lot of things, mostly things related to my future.

Why oh why decision-making have to be so hard? Why did I have to grow up so fast?

I missed that feeling of not having responsibilities and not having to decide on loads of life and deaths choices. Why??? Feels like I lost most of my years doing nothing, and now I'm stuck in a rut.

I seriously do not know what to do :'(

..........
....

Ok, I'll just post up photos of my cousin's recent engagement ceremony then.

2 of my brothers are in the photos. My first brother being the head of the 'dulang men'

Brother, aunts and mum

Representative from the guy side

Youngest brother - cheesy!

Erm.. for photo-taking sake.. hehehe

If you like it then you should've put a ring on it - a very happy cousin!

My cousin, Kak Lin, is a year older than I am.
Last year what she said when I told her I'll only get married after her was "Na, u better go get married first. U'd have to wait a long, long time before I ever do."

Well, Allah has better plans for her and I'm so happy with her decision to get engaged to her Kedah beau. She's been with her fiance for several years now, since they were studying in Japan, and now her fiance is also working in Kuching, to be closer to her.

I guess that's what love is all about, making each other happy, even if it means sacrificing a lot.
Because ultimately, it will be worth every moment spent.

Can't wait for their wedding!

merdeka day in ikea

After months of not going to Ikea, I decided to finally have a look around it today. I was anticipating a big crowd because it's MERDEKA DAY today.

Happy 55th Merdeka Day, Malaysians! (btw, hehe)

Yeap, the lot was as usual crowded, and apparently, Ikea has updated some of its product and showrooms as well.

I only bought a few small stuffs, mainly because my house will be filled with a lot of people in December, for my cousin's wedding. Mum has been constantly nagging at me to buy more kitchen utensils (by that, she means plates and bowls) to cater for my relatives who are going to crash my house for the wedding.

So yes, I bought a few more plates and bowls, a funky cushion, few pieces of native-inspired cushion covers, some small jars for salts, ajinomoto and whatnots, wire baskets for my drawers and something least expected out of me, some scented candles and holders!

Seriously not a fan of scented candles, but after taking a whiff of the Tindra range, I immediately fell in love. It smells of pure vanilla, imagine if you light them in your house and have the whole house smelling like vanilla!  Superb! Am gonna try that 1 day. In the meantime, the candles will still be kept somewhere in my storeroom :p

Alright, gonna call it a night now. Going to an ex-colleague's open house tomorrow, and that to me means REUNION! I love reunions! So many stories and ehem, gossips to update on.

Au revoir!

Oh ya, Ikea's 2013 will be coming out real soon!
